    Life Cycle of a Thunderstorm

In the beginning of the Life Cycle of a Thunderstorm, warm, moist air rises in and condenses into a cumulus cloud. The interaction between rising and cooling air results in the development of a unique phenomenon. The warm air within the cloud continues to rise, and ultimately, cools and condenses. The condensation releases heat into the cloud, warming the atmosphere. This, in turn, causes it to rise without a loss or gain of heat.

As it moves higher into the atmosphere, it forms a towering cloud. It continues to grow eventually traveling above the level of freezing. Supercooled water droplets and ice crystals now coexist. Precipitation begins to form once the air rises above the freezing level. The chemistry of falling rain and the cool air carries two dissimilar substances from the environment and it initiates a cool downdraft. The presence of both updrafts and downdrafts within the cloud initiates a downward drag of falling precipitation.

Our lives sometimes resemble the Life Cycle of a Thunderstorm. If something does not seem right or appears to be going in the wrong direction, we need to shift our energy from that moment immediately. Do not go through your day when confronted with an adverse condition. This can happen when we form negative emotions after banging our toe because we overslept and now are late for an important event.

Gather your thoughts and let your mind drift into the atmosphere, climb to a new level by listening to comforting music or taking a walk, rest your eyes with a quick power nap, refresh yourself by stretching or blowing away the storm with a gentle breath. Offer thanks to your spirit, your deity, your maker or the universe for getting you this far. Then ask, “What is next?”

We are all phenomenal bodies of energy who change our lives with each moment we move or make a change.

Shift your negative thought or feeling into neutral or positive by just making one single adjustment at a time and you will move forward with a renewed momentum.
